Education and Experience: Ms. Phillips is a graduate of Desoto County Schools, and is a Desoto County native. She is excited to be a part of the DCS family again!

Ms. Phillips taught American Literature, British Literature, World Literature, and Composition 1 & 2 courses for 3 years at Ole Miss. She is excited to take that experience and bring it into the high school classroom to teach Dual Credit at Southaven.

Personal Info: Ms. Phillips is from Nesbit, MS, but now lives in Midtown Memphis with her cat, Fitzgerald. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading & writing (of course!), needleworking, cooking, and traveling. She is a sucker for classic movies, cheesy sitcoms, and walks in the park. Her teaching philosophy holds her to treat her students like fellow human beings, believe her students can excel, create a welcoming environment, and encourage her students to reflect on how writing will impact their futures.
