Bio
About Me:  I graduated from college here in Mississippi with a major in English and a minor in History.  I always intended to teach English, and there was nothing that could stop me.  I graduated from Southaven High School in 2004, and went straight to The University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!).  After college, I began handing out resumes feverishly, and even went on six interviews in DeSoto County.  However, schools wanted teachers with experience, and I certainly didn’t have that listed on my resume.  Finally, a principal at my old high school took a chance and hired me!  I began teaching 9th grade English and the rest was history. I am very excited about this school year, and I hope that my students are as well.  I love literature, the power of language and trying to make others enjoy those things as much as I do.  Above all, I love teaching, and trust me; it's not for the money (laugh) or even the time off.  Believe it or not, it's the kids.  I actually like teenagers.  (Fascinating, I know.)   I know that if you bring your unique personality, positive attitude, and an open mind to class, it will be a very good year.  Most importantly, you will find that you actually like literature, and the stories we study will be ones that you remember for the rest of your life. On a more personal note, I have a 5 year old daughter and have been married to my wonderful husband for 12 years! We also have a beautiful dog named Chester.
