Mr. Timothy Gardner

Hi,  I am Mr. Gardner.

A lifelong Mississippian, I grew up in Canton, MS.  I have been teaching at SHS since 2001.  I attended Delta State University as an undergraduate.  I completed my master's in social studies education from the University of Mississippi.  I currently teach Dual Credit U.S. History, AP U.S. History, AP Psychology,  AP Macroeconomics, and AP U.S. Government. I have a passion for teaching the social studies and preparing students for the next step in life, whether that is college or the workforce.  I also sponsor the SHS Government club along with Mrs. Rhodes and I am the SHS sponsor for the Mayor's Youth Council.    If you are interested in either club, please contact me.   I also have been the economics team coach for the past 5 years.   We placed 2nd in the state in 2019 and 2020.   SHS had the top economics student in the state for 2018.  

The 2020-2021 school year will present several new challenges for us.  We will be working to implement a new LMS system to facilitate distance learning should we have to move back to virtual learning.  Student assignment will be turned in using this system.
