"For us, the warrior is not what you think of as warriors. The warrior is not someone who fights, for no one has the right to take another life.  The warrior, for us, is the one who sacrifices himself for the good of others.  His task is to take care of the elderly, the defenseless, those who cannot provide for themselves, and above all, the children, the future of humanity."

- Sitting Bull, Chief of The Lakota Nation

I am a graduate of Southaven High School and Blue Mountain College, where I earned a B.S. in English, Secondary Education.  I later earned my master's degree in Educational Theory and Practice with Arkansas State University.  I am certified to teach Language Arts in grades 7-12 and Special Education K-12 in the state of Mississippi.

I have 16 years experience in education with DeSoto County Schools.  In 2007, I began my career teaching 7th grade ELA at Desoto Central Middle School and remained there for four years.  At Southaven High School, I taught English 9, 10, and 12.  After that, I served as a special education teacher/case manager and inclusion teacher for 8 years and co-MET chair for one.

Currently, I serve as MET Chair for the Special Education Department here at SHS.
