Education
I am a graduate of Southaven High School and Blue Mountain College, where I earned a B.S. in English, Secondary Education.  I later earned my master's degree in Educational Theory and Practice with Arkansas State University.  I am certified to teach Language Arts in grades 7-12 and Special Education K-12 in the state of Mississippi.


Experience
I have 16 years experience in education with DeSoto County Schools.  In 2007, I began my career teaching 7th grade ELA at Desoto Central Middle School and remained there for four years.  At Southaven High School, I taught English 9, 10, and 12.  After that, I served as a special education teacher/case manager and inclusion teacher for 8 years and co-MET chair for one. 

Currently, I serve as MET Chair for the Special Education Department here at SHS.
