This Is Me

Greetings! My name is Barbara Potts-Szoke. This is my twelfth year at SHS and my ninth in the Sped Department as an Inclusion English Specialist. I love working here at Southaven High School and adore my wonderful colleagues. I cannot imagine teaching anywhere else nor do I want to do so.

It is my goal as an Inclusion teacher to assist my students in any way I can to ensure their academic success. As I bounce from one room and/or student to another, reaching me by phone is extremely difficult so the best way to reach me is via email using barbara.potts-szoke@dcsms.org or simply clicking the link above. I will respond as quickly as possible.

If your student is on my IEP case load, please take a few moments to complete the uploaded Parent Transition Questionnaire (click on the forms link above) and return it to me. It is a necessary form used to compose your child's IEP. Thank you!

Bio

Originally from Pennsylvania, my family and I relocated to Mississippi in 1995, finally settling here in Southaven in 2000. My husband and I were married in 1985 then expanded our family with two sons, who are both in the military, and one daughter, who remained local. All are married now and have flown the nest. These days we are thoroughly enjoying every moment we have with our 3 darling grandsons!
