Subjects Taught
Performing Arts, Piano Keyboarding 1

I studied Music Education at Austin Peay State University for 2 years before transferring to Lee University in Cleveland, TN in 2013. I completed my bachelor's degree in Vocal Music in 2016.

I have performance experience in commercial keyboard as well as classical piano. In college, I toured with an ensemble where I served as student director, soprano section leader, and director of a small touring band. I was the rehearsal accompanist and often taught vocal parts (by ear and from written scores) from the keyboard. I have worked in recording studios, and I wrote, orchestrated, and recorded a song for an album in college. I have played piano at church since I was a teenager and also play the acoustic guitar. I bring to the table a wealth of knowledge in classical and contemporary theory, and find it challenging but exciting to be able to use both sides of music in my classroom.

I am a first-year teacher and I'm thrilled to begin my journey here at Southaven High School! I have played the piano since I was 7, and the 18 years since then have been filled with all kinds of music-making. I am a member of the Mississippi River Chorale and Ictus where I sing Soprano 1. I also participate in the worship band/vocal team at Cornerstone church. I enjoy philosophy, reading, and sewing. In my free time, I volunteer with the Junior League of Memphis of which I am a provisional member.
